Culture Speeds Up Human Evolution

People has spread across the globe and increased vastly in numbers over the past 50,000 years or so—from an estimated five million in 9000 B.C. to roughly 6.5 billion today. More people means more opportunity for mutations to creep into the basic human genome and new research confirms that in the past 10,000 years a host of changes to everything from digestion to bones has been taking place.

Watching people I doubt there was any “evolution”. People did not change and maybe even became more obnoxious than ever. “Kings of the Universe” soon will become “Kings without Universe”. Otherwise, it’s an interesting article.

I think evolution exists. For those who know history it is clear that people now are more “civilized” in general than they used to be. Will this save us from self-destruction I am not so sure. Time is against us.
